Student & Family Support Programs
Student Mentor Program
Students are paired with an adult who has been trained as a mentor through the Oconee Area Resource Council. Students spend 30 minutes each week with their mentor. Students might eat lunch with their mentors, read books together, play games, or just spend time together talking. The mentoring relationship is very special and provides much needed support to many of our students.
Food for Kids
This program is offered through a partnership between Oconee County Schools, the Oconee County Resource Council, and the Oconee County community. Eligible students receive a bag of food each Friday to take home and supplement the food that is already provided to them in their home.
Secret Santa Program
Each year the residents, businesses, and schools of Oconee County pull together to help provide clothing, toys, and household items for families in need of financial support during the holiday season. All gifts are donated and available for pick up at the beginning of winter break. Families can apply to be a part of the program by completing an application process in early October.
